Living our vision

Living our vision

At St. James Primary School we are always looking for ways that we can live out our vision in our community. We want all children to experience 'life in all its fullness' and feel a duty to spread this belief out beyond the alls of our school.

HARVEST FESTIVAL AT ST. JAMES CHURCH - SEP 2021

Children from school were invited to participate in St. James Church Harvest Festival. Families from school joined the St. James congregation for an outdoor Harvest Celebration on the school playground. Children from the school sang Harvest songs as part of this shared worship.

EXPERIENCE EUCHARIST - APRIL 2021

We initiated an exciting project with local primary and secondary schools during February 2021 when it became apparent that remote learning wasn't going away. We organised an Experience Eucharist where each school created a video sharing a station and we then put these together to create a video of each of the 6 stations. We linked with the Herefordshire Diocese to link our videos. The video was then used in each school to teach children about the Eucharist.

EXPERIENCE HARVEST - SEP 2021

Children at St. James took part in an Experience Harvest. We worked with the St. James Church leadership team to deliver workshops across the school and church. St. James School Worship Crew led a station sharing the importance of humility at harvest time.

YEAR 6 AND YEAR R BUDDIES - SEP 2021

Year 6 were very excited to meet their Year R Buddy. They had written them letters welcoming them to the school in Year 5 and now had their first time to meet with them. Year 6 took Year R to St. James Church and gave them a guided tour. They also presented their buddy with a book of prayers to welcome them to the school. This is the start of a fantastic friendship between pupils in Year R and Year 6.
