 ‘Life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10)

In order for pupils to experience ‘Life in all its fullness’ we will:

Celebrate aspirational and enquiring minds. We will nurture high expectations, creativity, tolerance and respect for others in order that our children will have strong morals and spiritual values to become successful members of society

In our teaching of Art and Design, children will be engaged, inspired and challenged which will equip them with the knowledge and skills to create their own works of art, crafts and design.

SMSC - stands for Spiritual, Moral, Social, Cultural education. This is a non-statutory subject, therefore the objectives are embedded in our whole school curriculum. We aim to prepare them to take a full role in society as confident individuals and good citizens.

We instil British Values in our pupils through SMSC education. These are;

-Mutual Respect

-Rule of Law

-Individual Liberty

These support the development of the 'whole child'.

In our teaching of Music, children will be taught to perform, listen to, review and evaluate music.  They will also learn to sing, create and compose music and understand how music is created, produced and communicated.

In our teaching of PE, children will develop knowledge to become physically confident in a way in which support their health and fitness. They are given opportunities to compete in a range of sporting events in order to embed values such as fairness and respect.

In our teaching of Computing, we will encourage children to develop a confident and safe approach to using technology in a range of situations and tasks.  We aim to develop confident, independent learners who are able to plan, design, create, programme and evaluate information through the use of technology.

In our teaching of Design Technology, pupils are required to use creativity and imagination to solve problems that are real and relevant in a variety of contexts, taking into account their own and others' values, wants and needs. Children are given opportunities to explore how things work, select appropriate tools and techniques to foster satisfaction , enjoyment and purpose in designing and making.
